Working with Researchers for Open Access Publishing: Industry Experts from Brill Share Their Experiences

To celebrate International Open Access Week this year, we’ve invited several leaders from the publishing community to share their views. In this video, Stephanie Veldman (Head of Open Research, Brill) and Dominique De Roo (Vice President, Global Marketing, Brill) share their views about open access publishing with Mriganka Awati, Senior Writer, Editage Insights (our sister brand).
Stephanie and Dominique talk about how publishing open access can benefit young researchers in particular and be used to build global visibility. They also share their experience of working with authors to get funding for article-processing charges, navigating read-and-publish agreements with library customers, and geographical differences in the adoption of open access publishing models. In keeping with the theme Open for Climate Justice, they explore open access publishing in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Watch the video to hear their perspectives.
